Radiology Technologist

Location: Lafayette, Colorado
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 07:00 - 19:30)
Hours per Week: 36


Job Summary

Perform radiographic procedures to obtain diagnostic images according to physician specifications. Responsibilities include patient transfer, operation of X-ray imaging equipment, patient positioning and immobilization, and assisting with X-ray examinations. Ensure image quality and submit images for radiologist interpretation. Follow radiation safety measures and infection prevention protocols. Supervise and evaluate student radiographers in the clinical setting.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and operate all related imaging equipment.
  • Educate, position, and immobilize patients appropriately for imaging.
  • Coordinate examinations to ensure timeliness and quality of patient care.
  • Follow provider imaging orders accurately.
  • Evaluate image quality and communicate effectively with patients, coworkers, radiologists, and leadership.
  • Utilize and maintain department supplies properly.
  • Practice sterile technique and infection prevention policies.
  • Adhere to radiation safety measures (ALARA) to protect patients and staff.
  • Safely transfer patients for procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast agents per radiologist protocols.
  • Supervise and evaluate student radiographers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technologist experience within the last year.
  • Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • CT certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, service-oriented setting requiring multitasking and meeting deadlines.
  • Weekend work required (Friday through Sunday).

Additional Information

  • No prior travel experience required.
  • Supervision of students is part of the role.
