Job Summary

  • Provide nursing care using specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Care is culturally based and age-specific, following the Ohio Nurse Practice Act and ANA code of ethics.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote patient- and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment: Perform holistic assessments of physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs; recognize and report changes in patient condition; ensure safety through proactive initiatives.
  • Diagnosis and Planning: Develop and prioritize individualized patient problems and needs; prepare and revise multidisciplinary care plans with measurable goals; communicate plans using SBAR and handoff processes; initiate discharge planning upon admission.
  • Implementation: Deliver evidence-based, quality care; delegate nursing actions appropriately; provide ongoing patient and family education; respond skillfully to emergencies; implement infection control and safety measures.
  • Evaluation: Continuously evaluate nursing practice against evidence-based standards, patient outcomes, and goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio.
  • Minimum of 1 year of float experience, including float experience within the last year.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Contract Details

  • Duration: 8 weeks.
  • Shift: Float pool only, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift (36 hours/week).
