Job Summary

Under general supervision, evaluate, diagnose, and recommend treatment plans for speech and language communication disorders.

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform evaluations of speech, hearing, and swallowing difficulties upon physician referral.
• Make preliminary diagnoses and develop treatment plans.
• Determine the need for individual or group therapy for each client.
• Document client progress.
• Assist students in clinical rotations to meet their objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of normal speech, language, and hearing development.
• Ability to perform diagnostic tests for communication disorders and formulate treatment plans.
• Strong interpersonal skills with patients, clients, and coworkers.
• Ability to interact patiently and encouragingly with clients, especially when frustration levels are high.
