Registered Nurse - Mom/Baby

Location: Denver, Colorado
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing (Contract)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night
Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Perform independent nursing and delegated medical functions according to state Board of Nursing standards.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
Continuously evaluate patient health status through data collection and assessment.
Provide health teaching and counseling.
Deliver supportive and restorative therapy and treatment directly or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching.
Execute delegated medical functions and refer patients for further evaluation or treatment as needed.
Review and monitor therapy and treatment plans.
Document care in compliance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.
Utilize resources effectively.
May float to other departments within scope of competency.
May be required to be on-call during scheduled shifts.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Colorado.
Maternal-Newborn experience, including 1 year of experience.
Maternal-Newborn experience within the last year.
Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by the American Heart Association.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
Previous experience as a Registered Nurse.
Certification relevant to the unit or service.

Skills and Experience

Nursing care, health assessment, health teaching, and health counseling.
Therapy and treatment planning.
Execution of medical functions, patient referral, and treatment plan monitoring.
Accurate documentation and resource utilization.
