Work Schedule

• Variable 12-hour shifts
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Ability to work nights and/or weekends required for some positions
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency
• May be required to be on-call during regularly scheduled shifts

Job Summary

• Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique
• Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients
• Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to surgeon’s preference
• Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and supplies; maintain sterile environment
• Assist surgeon by passing instruments during cases
• Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique
• Assist in maintenance and care of specimens; prepare for laboratory analysis
• Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps per policy and standards
• Assist with timely turnover of rooms including cleanup, restocking supplies and equipment
• Care for instruments and equipment
• Promote mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED or training in the U.S. military

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
• Surgical Technologist experience

Certifications

• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
