Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical
Location: Wichita, Kansas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Details
- Work schedule includes at least every other weekend with no on-call duties.
- Must commit to working any holidays during the contract for an elevated rate.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Kansas.
- Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Valid Driver’s License.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings including:
- Two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Two Varicella vaccines, serological evidence of immunity, or documented history (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (October 1 – March 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
- Tuberculosis screening:
- 2-step PPD or Negative IGRA within required timeframes.
- If positive, must provide negative chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire.
- Annual Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite).
- Annual 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and updated annually.
Onboarding and Competency Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding including:
- Core competencies covering HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score (two attempts allowed).
- EKG exam with a passing score of at least 80% (two attempts allowed), updated every 3 years.
- Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
- MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.
- Completion of pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip and Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding.
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Skills checklist for specialty completed within one year of start and updated annually.
- Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background (no alterations).
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
Documentation and Compliance
- Signed assignment agreement required prior to onboarding.
- Resume/profile required for submission.
- Confirmation of assignment and assignment agreement must be provided and updated with each extension.
- Name change documentation if applicable (optional).
- Hiring manager evaluation post-assignment (optional).

- Prior travel experience is not specified as a requirement.
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
- No call responsibilities.
