Job Opportunity: EP Tech (Electrophysiology Technician)
Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 13 weeks as specified)
Job Description
- Work schedule: Monday - Friday, no call, 8-10 hour shifts between 7 AM - 7 PM (shift length determined by department needs)
- Must have experience in invasive electrophysiology procedures including:
- 3D mapping
- EP recording systems
- Advanced ablation (including A-Fib)
- Familiarity with ICE procedures
- Cardiac rhythm management interrogation and programming (multi-vendor devices)
- Operation of associated equipment
- Familiarity with GE Cardio lab and/or St Jude Work Mate equipment preferred
- EP procedure/equipment and CRM programming experience preferred
- EPIC experience required, no exceptions
Required Qualifications
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Electrophysiology Lab)
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in the Electrophysiology Lab (highest required years of experience)
- Certifications/Licenses:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NASPE/RCES or RCIS with EP experience, or registry eligible
- Minimum Education: Associate degree or higher, completion of an accredited cardiovascular technology program towards obtaining a Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist registry
Important Requirements
- No license or background hits will be considered; candidates must have a clean background
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
- EPIC experience is mandatory
- Must be able to pass a fit test for N95 masks (PAPR not allowed)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background checks: 7-year criminal check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Various certifications and competency exams required (e.g., ACLS, BLS, medication competency, pass/fail EKG test)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and titers required within 10 years or as applicable:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for some units)
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination required or approved exemption (mask required if exempt)
- COVID vaccine preferred but not required
- Proof of 2 references required
- Skills checklist and employment application required
Additional Notes
- Passport-style photo required before start (specific photo requirements apply)
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments required prior to or at orientation
- Fingerprinting required for certain units (not specifically for this role unless assigned to those units)
