Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - RRT
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (0700-1930)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
- No call or float requirement
- State license required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
- 2 years of experience required in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- Locals within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
- No prior travel experience required
Certifications & Licenses Required
- State Respiratory Therapist License (required prior to start)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Please review unit details
- Other certifications may be required based on unit description (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) but not mandatory for this role unless specified by unit
Compliance & Documentation
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state searches
- E-Verify attestation required
- I9 documentation required
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years preferred
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) documentation or titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or signed declination
- Varicella documentation or titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
Additional Requirements
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (must score 80% or higher) within 3 years of start
- Competency exams relevant to specialty may be required
- Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
- Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual
- Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
Work Environment
- Facility-specific modules (SITELS) must be completed prior to start date
- No float or call responsibilities
- Every other weekend coverage required
This position is suitable for RRTs with at least 2 years of experience who are open to travel assignments or local candidates within 60 miles. First-time travelers are welcome.
