Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech
Location: Aurora, Colorado
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology (Interventional Radiology Tech)
- Shift: 4x10 hour day shifts (typically 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM, occasionally starting at 7:00 AM)
- Days: Monday - Friday with weekend on-call required
- On-Call Requirements:
- Weeknight call once per week (6:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Weekend call every 4-6 weeks (Friday 6:00 PM - Monday 7:30 AM)
- Patient Ratio: 1 tech to 2 patients
- Charting System: Epic
- Scrubs: Provided
- Floating: Not required
Job Environment
- Fast-paced, high-turnover, 8-room procedural Interventional Radiology unit
- Level I trauma hospital
- Patient population includes outpatient and critically ill inpatients, including emergent trauma and stroke patients
- Procedures include embolizations (neuro and body), drain placements/exchanges, central line placements, Y90 planning and implant, and more
- Typically 1 RN and 1-2 Radiology Techs present per procedure
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, with experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Must be able to work weekend and weekday on-call shifts as described
- Must pass a 7-year background check and meet all standard healthcare compliance requirements
- Required health documents include:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Fit mask test within 12 months and annually
- Immunizations and titers (TDAP, MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Flu, COVID)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Drug testing within 30 days and annually
- Color blind exam (Ishihara test) prior to start
- Required competencies and exams updated annually (medication test, dysrhythmia/EKG competency, OSHA, core competencies)
- References: 2 references from the last 2 years, including one from the last year, from charge RN, manager, or supervisor
- Employment history verification for the last 3 years required
Additional Notes
- Maximum of 10 return-to-office (RTO) days allowed
- RTO not allowed during certain holiday periods (late December, mid-March, early May, late May)
- Parking for travelers is in a shuttle lot except when on-call
- This position is not open to first-time travelers
This role is ideal for experienced Interventional Radiology Technologists seeking a challenging, fast-paced environment with a Level I trauma center patient population. Weekend and on-call availability is mandatory.
