Job Opportunity: Endoscopy Registered Nurse
Location: Binghamton, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse – Endoscopy
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend on-call shift per month
- On-call Requirement: 1 on-call shift per month (can coincide with weekend on-call)
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Local candidates: Not accepted (no locals)
- Return-to-Office (RTO) Restrictions: 5 days or less preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in the specialty
- Licensure: Valid New York RN license
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Must have completed required skills checklist within 1 year of start (updated annually)
- Must be able to work 1 weekend on-call shift per month
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required
- I-9 verification required for direct placements
- E-Verify attestation required for direct placements
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest nursing degree (ASN/BSN) required; certificates alone are not accepted
- Employment application and 2 professional references required
- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Confidentiality agreement and job description must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Personal appearance policy must be reviewed
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam completed and signed by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Respirator fit test within 1 year of start, updated annually (specific mask models required)
- Respirator clearance via RespSafety questionnaire required prior to start
- Negative 9-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (instant test acceptable if done onsite)
- TB screening:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation required
- TB questionnaire required within 30 days of start, updated annually
- Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
- Hepatitis B (series, declination, or positive titer)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- COVID-19: Two vaccine doses required or approved exemption; booster not required at this time
Training and Competency Exams
- Harassment prevention training certificate (New York specific) required annually
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Basic Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for telemetry and medical-surgical units
- Facility-specific RN modules, including medication exam and suicide precautions quiz, must be completed prior to start
- EPIC test-out process will be coordinated by facility training team

- Photo for badge must meet specific guidelines (plain light background, no hats/masks/sunglasses, no selfies)
