Outpatient Registered Nurse (Pulm/Allergy) - Travel/Contract
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Pulm/Allergy)
- Setting: Outpatient multi-specialty clinic
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Weekend Requirement: No
- On-call Requirement: No
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to similar units, but rarely
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of clinic experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Facility Type: Multi-specialty outpatient building with 25+ specialties
- Approximate staffed beds: 50
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free, on-site
- Local radius rule: 60 miles
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis
Important Notes
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks (no guaranteed full schedule)
- During hurricane season (June through November, peak in August and September), all staff including travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams; new or extension assignments during this period should be considered carefully
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including Social Security trace, counties, nationwide, and sex offender registry
- Physical exam within 90 days prior to start, confirming good health and ability to work without restrictions
- Fit test for N95 mask (specific approved models) within 90 days prior to start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap within 10 years or declination form
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted for Mumps and Rubella only)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
- Varicella (2 vaccines, documented chickenpox history, or declination)
- Drug screen: 10-panel urine drug test within 90 days prior to start (no instant tests)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required annually (declinations not accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form with COVID box checked
- Photo for badge: color, frontal view, solid light background, no hats or sunglasses, must be submitted before start
- Orientation modules to be completed within 5 days of start
Additional Certifications (As Applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or required depending on assignment
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) if applicable
Other Considerations
- Radiation badge required only if assigned to units with radiation exposure (not typical for this outpatient role)
- Must comply with facility dress code and personal appearance policies
- All required documents and certifications must be submitted and verified prior to start
