CT Tech - Travel/Contract Position

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Day shift, Sunday through Wednesday, 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM (4x10 hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: Up to 40 hours guaranteed
• Work Settings: Outpatient, inpatient, Emergency Room (ER), community hospital, Adult ICU
• Caseload: Daily caseload typical for CT technologists
• On-Call: Yes
• Weekend Requirement: Not typical, but possible coverage if needed
• Floating: No floating within or to sister facilities
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (local radius rule: 100 miles)
• Start Date: Flexible

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a CT Technologist, with experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ARRT (CT) certification
• Experience with biopsy procedures
• Experience with drainage procedures

Population & Environment

• The patient population includes a complex Alaska Native community with significant social history and domestic violence considerations
• Cultural sensitivity to Alaska Native population is required
• Facility is an acute care, Magnet-designated hospital with 152 staffed beds
• Charting system: Cerner
• Parking: Free parking available

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Background Checks: Standard background check within 90 days, including SS trace and county searches for last 7 years
• Education Verification: Required (diploma or transcript related to specialty)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam (annual renewal)
  • Fit mask test (approved masks only, annual renewal, must be done prior to arrival)
  • Proof of immunizations or titers for:

    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, titer, or facility-specific declination)
    • Varicella
  • Negative TB test (QGOLD, TSPOT, or PPD within 1 year) or chest X-ray if positive
  • TB questionnaire annually
  • COVID-19 vaccination required (initial series or J&J dose plus seasonal/bi-valent vaccine); medical exemptions accepted with doctor’s letter; declinations and religious exemptions not accepted
  • Drug screen: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine highly preferred (required during flu season unless medical exemption with verifiable diagnosis)
• Competency Exams: Required for all specialties (medication test/pharmacology, general competency, dysrhythmia/EKG for ER specialties)
• Additional Certifications: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) AVADE certification within 12 months of start, renewed annually
• References: Two clinical references required
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist required

Facility-Specific Documents & Processes

• Completion of personal data, confidentiality, non-employee approval, badge, and background release forms prior to start
• Facility-specific onboarding includes pre-boarding and non-employee onboarding tasks to be completed online within deadlines (profile registration within 72 hours of booking; all tasks completed at least 10 days prior to start)
• Photo for badge highly preferred but not mandatory
• Orientation handbook and acknowledgment required
• Facility provides HealthStream modules during orientation (estimated 15 minutes each)
• Fingerprinting not required for this facility

Notes

• No contract changes allowed after signing (including start dates, shifts, or other terms)
• Must apply for Alaska license ASAP if not currently held
• Scrub color: Any color or pattern allowed (L&D/OR scrubs provided)

This position is ideal for a seasoned CT Technologist with trauma and advanced CT procedure experience, comfortable working in a culturally sensitive environment serving a complex patient population.
