Case Manager (Registered Nurse) - Travel/Contract

Location: Los Angeles, California
Department: Care Coordination (Surgery and Transplant Services)


Job Details

  • Employment Type: Travel/Contract
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Dress Code: Business casual (no scrubs required)
  • Work Environment: Large university teaching hospital setting, high-volume environment

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Acute Care Case Management experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Harassment Prevention Training

Job Responsibilities

  • Case management, utilization management, and discharge planning within surgery and transplant services
  • Coordination of patient care in a complex hospital environment

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid Driver’s License or government-issued photo ID
  • Background checks including:
    • Social Security Trace
    • 7-year National Criminal History Search (County searches)
    • National Sex Offender Search
    • FACIS level 3 search (includes OFAC)
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG searches (within 30 days of start, annually updated)
  • Education verification (diploma or official transcripts) confirming BSN or higher
  • NURSYS license verification (within 30 days of start)
  • Facility-specific documents including:
    • Abuse reporting acknowledgments (Elder, Child, Domestic)
    • HIPAA training and acknowledgment
    • OSHA annual education training
    • Confidentiality agreement
    • Access request forms (not required for RNs)
    • Pyxis form (for RN specialties)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Negative QGold TB test within 1 year (Chest X-Ray if applicable)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declination accepted if signed within past year)
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers, vaccines, or declinations as applicable)
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
    • COVID-19 vaccine dose or declination (vaccine must be after 9/12/2023)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug test within 12 months (Aya requirement)
  • References: Two required, supervisor level or above, one within the last year
  • Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps of 30+ days
  • Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Notes

  • Some holidays and weekends may be required
  • Facility onboarding requires timely submission of all documents and certifications
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
