NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts of 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours guaranteed
Job Summary
- Care for neonates including 32-week premature and full-term newborns in a mixed acuity Level 4 NICU unit.
- Must be proficient with IV vasopressors, High Frequency Ventilation, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Respiratory Distress Syndrome management, and ventilator management.
- Floating within scope to Pediatric ICU, Level II NICU, and Mother-Baby Unit (MBU) may be required.
- Weekend requirement: 12 shifts per contract.
- Block scheduling may be accommodated but is not guaranteed.
- No local candidates accepted within 100 miles radius.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Mexico.
- Minimum 2 years of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) experience, with NICU experience within the last year.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Contract Details
- Contract length: 13 weeks minimum.
- New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks.
- Facility allows calling off up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment.
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions: Absences longer than 7 days require approval.
- Overtime paid after 48 hours worked (effective 10/30/2025).
- A 6-month break is required after 4 consecutive assignments or 1 year of cumulative travel work at this facility, whichever comes first.

- Level I Trauma, Teaching, Children’s Hospital, short-term acute care facility.
- Total staffed beds: 554.
- Charting system: Cerner.
- Parking: No fee.
- Scrub color: Black.
- Location is not near public transportation; candidates must have reliable transportation.

- On-call is not required.
- Two professional references within three years of hire required.
