Job Details

  • Work site: Mission Bay
  • Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (Day: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; Night: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Hours per week: 36 hours (3 shifts of 12 hours)
  • Candidates must be willing and able to float to other units and facilities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in California
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric Emergency Room (ER) experience, with at least some experience within the last year
  • Experience working with pediatric patients
  • Certifications (must be AHA, no exceptions or placeholders):
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) issued by American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or training

Preferred Skills and Certifications

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN)
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC)
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Skills in Conscious Sedation, Telemetry, Triage, and Ventilator management

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete facility-specific learning modules prior to or on Day 1 of assignment
  • Must complete annual Cyber Security Awareness Training and HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module with passing scores
  • Must complete COVID-19 related questionnaires and comply with facility COVID-19 preparedness policies
  • Must complete emergency contact information form
  • Must complete wage benefit parity form as required by California law
  • Must comply with facility-specific policies on parking, uniform, and respirator medical evaluation if applicable
