Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days, 5x8 (6:45 AM – 3:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours

Job Summary

• Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and other healthcare team members.
• Communicate with patients and families to assess individual needs and provide detailed education during inpatient stay and at discharge.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to share information and coordinate care.
• Respond effectively to verbal and non-verbal communication from patients, families, and healthcare staff.
• Make ethical decisions respecting patient values, including cultural and spiritual beliefs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Wound Care Certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Wound Care experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• Wound and Ostomy Certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, bending, and some repetitive motions.
