Description
Wound and Ostomy Registered Nurse
Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Clinical Nursing
Shift: Days, 5x8 (6:45 AM – 3:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with patients, families, co-workers, and other healthcare team members.
- Communicate with patients and families to assess individual needs and provide detailed education during inpatient stay and at discharge.
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to share information and coordinate care.
- Respond effectively to verbal and non-verbal communication from patients, families, supervisors, and physicians.
- Make ethical decisions and actions on behalf of patients, demonstrating sensitivity to cultural, spiritual, and personal values.
- Incorporate patient and family beliefs into the plan of care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Wound Care Certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of wound care experience within the last year.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Wound and Ostomy Certification preferred.
Physical Demands
- Involves standing, walking, sitting, talking, hearing, and bending.
- May include some repetitive motions.
