Job Overview

• Location: Summit, New Jersey
• Schedule: Day shift
• Hours: 36 per week, 12-hour shifts
• Contract length: 8 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Active nursing license for the applicable role
• Experience providing perioperative nursing care
• Ability to perform thorough patient assessments across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric
• Competence in direct patient care, documentation, patient education, and safe patient handling
• Knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Familiarity with surgical procedures, anesthesia-related care, and pre-admission testing responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and deliver appropriate care
• Provide direct nursing care and support the patient care team
• Maintain accurate documentation, including nursing process and patient education
• Follow patient safety practices, including universal protocol and use of two patient identifiers
• Support surgical patient care across the perioperative continuum
• Complete pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education
• Review pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness and possible omissions
