Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – PCU for ER Holding Area

Location: Savannah, Georgia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide care for patients boarded in the ER holding area with a stepdown skillset.
• Patient types include cardiac, neuro, ortho, and critical care.
• Ratio typically 1:4-5, adjusted for acuity.
• RN responsible for reading and saving telemetry strips (Spacelabs monitors).
• RT available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and ventilator troubleshooting.
• X-ray and CT available in ER with dedicated techs; no phlebotomy performed by RNs.
• Separate holding area and psych/seclusion rooms available.
• Security present 24/7 in the ER.

Schedule & Orientation

• 12-hour day shifts.
• At least 6 weekend days/nights required in a 6-week schedule (approximately every other weekend).
• Holiday shifts based on department needs.
• No call, standby, or floating requirements.
• Department-specific orientation during the first week of the contract.
• Dress code: Navy scrubs.

Required Qualifications

• Active Georgia or Compact RN license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA).
• Minimum of 2 years recent PCU nursing experience OR 1 year PCU plus 1+ years in Telemetry, ER, or ICU.
• Must have successfully completed at least 1 previous travel nursing assignment.
• References should be from recent assignments.
