Overview

• Location: Ashland, Wisconsin
• Contract length: 14 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day/night rotation
• Hours: 36 per week
• Start: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin
• LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (2 years of experience)
• LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• C-EFM
• NRP
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients
• Experience working with Neonate patients
• 2 years of OB experience
• Labor and Delivery experience

Unit Details

• Small critical access hospital
• LDRP unit with 5 beds
• 1 OR suite for C-sections
• 3 postpartum beds
• Approx. 18–20 births per month
• Level 1 obstetric and nursery care
• Travelers triage patients
• May need to assist with C-sections in the future
• Common patient types include pre-eclampsia and well-controlled GDM
• Delivers 36 weeks and above; lower gestations are typically transferred if safe

Schedule and Work Expectations

• 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Every other holiday
• 2 twelve-hour call shifts per 4-week schedule
• 1-hour call response time
• Must be willing to float to all departments on low-census days as RN/CNA helpers
• Charge nurse takes assignments
• RN must be competent with EFM documentation
• Must be able to titrate drips, including Pitocin, magnesium, and occasional insulin

• Housing leads are available; candidate should confirm housing options in the area
• Purple scrubs are provided
• Unit orientation is 1–2 days
