Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Dubois, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Shift Options:

  • Day Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Night Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Patient Ratios:

  • Day: 1 nurse to 5 patients (with LPN support 1:7)
  • Night: 1 nurse to 6 patients (with LPN support 1:8)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required
• 7-year criminal background check including:

  • Social Security trace
  • County searches for all locations lived/worked/schooled in last 7 years
  • Nationwide search
  • Sex offender registry
  • Pennsylvania statewide (Patch Certificate)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 12 months of start (must be completed in PA)
• Education verification required (transcripts, diplomas, or third-party verifications accepted)
• Two professional references within the last 3 years required

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 6 months of start or chest X-ray within 5 years if applicable
• Required vaccinations or positive titers (or facility-specific declination forms) for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within past 10 years)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-April); mask required if declining vaccine through March 31
• COVID-19 vaccination or facility-specific declination required
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Alcohol breathalyzer test within 30 days of start (not required for this location)

Competency and Training Requirements

• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable by profession
• Annual skills checklist required
• Completion of facility-specific orientation packet and acknowledgements prior to start
• Completion of bloodborne pathogen quiz prior to start

Additional Facility-Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo (no filters) for badge issuance
• Completion of medical surveillance checklist prior to start
• Completion of vaccine declination forms if applicable (COVID, flu, MMR, Hep B, Tdap)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse (Childline) search within 1 year of start
