Job Overview

  • Setting: Outpatient urology clinic supporting provider office visits, outpatient procedures, nursing visits, and phone triage

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Connecticut
  • Clinic (2 years of experience)
  • Clinic experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Urology experience

Role Responsibilities

  • Support urology provider office visits and outpatient procedures
  • Perform nursing visits such as bladder chemo instills, catheter changes, and rectal swabs
  • Handle phone triage
  • Train for and support a specific group of provider clinics
  • Float within scope as needed

Schedule and Work Expectations

  • Weekend work is not required
  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are not accepted
  • RTO greater than 7 days requires approval

Pros

Always given very easy assignments. Their MICU is combined with the MICU stepdown so travelers were put in stepdown once a week but it’s a 1:3 ratio there and assignments were fair

Cons

Very large unit so hard to get to know everyone/find people to help sometimes
