Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Shift Details
- Night shift
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Georgia
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Experience with:
- Intubation
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis
- Nitric oxide therapy management
- Epic electronic health record system
- GE Healthcare systems
Work Environment
- 24/7 respiratory therapy department
- Coverage includes all hospital floors, a 30-bed ICU, 25-bed open heart unit, 25-bed NICU, and a 47-bed/5 trauma emergency department
- Floating within the facility as needed, within scope of practice
- Weekend work every other weekend
- No call requirements
- Holiday work expectations: If 1 major holiday occurs during assignment, expected to work it; if 2, expected to work both; if 3, expected to work 2 of them
Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day
Orientation and Compliance
- Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements required to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Dress Code
- Scrub color: Any color except all red or all navy blue
Health and Background Requirements
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (including amphetamines, methamphetamines, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, cocaine, opiates, methadone, PCP, propoxyphene, THC)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or documentation of immunity:
- TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months or negative chest x-ray if prior positive
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
- Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- TDAP highly recommended but not required
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification and criminal history
Additional Requirements
- Skills checklist updated within 12 months
- Work history verification of most recent employer (can be pending at start with proof it is in process)
- Two clinical references required
- Color blindness test required; alternative assessment available if needed
- Competency exams required for medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG (specific to respiratory therapy and related units)
- Must review and sign facility-specific Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance policies prior to start
Notes
- Prior travel experience is required (1st time travelers not accepted)
- Floating within the facility may be required as needed
- No call responsibilities
- Locals accepted at the same rate
