Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic

Location: Morrisville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
• Weekend Requirement: No
• On-Call Requirement: No
• Orientation: Bi-weekly sessions

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of clinic experience, including clinic experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Cardiology experience
• Experience with Epic charting system
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification

Candidate Eligibility

• First-time travel nurses are welcome
• Local candidates within 75 miles are considered (local rate adjustment applies)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks: Must be completed within 90 days of start, including SSN trace, alias searches, nationwide and international checks if applicable, education verification, and sex offender registry
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 12 months
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific protocols for positive history)
  • Required vaccinations: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination), Polio vaccine or attestation
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
  • Fit mask (N95 or equivalent) within 12 months
  • Drug test: Negative 10-panel including THC within 30 days of start (no instant tests)
• References: Two professional references from employment within the last 12 months, including at least one supervisor
• Employment Application: Complete with 7 years of work history
• Skills Checklist: Must be updated annually

Additional Requirements

• Duke Guest Account: Must be set up prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
• Competency Exam: Unit-specific competency exam required at orientation
• Pass/Fail Testing: EKG and medication knowledge test administered at orientation (passing score 80%)
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing: Required for all candidates except Hospice RNs, Medical Assistants, and RRTs

Notes

• Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments may have some document requirements waived or accepted on file
• Candidate must complete all required online modules prior to orientation
• Candidate must submit all required documentation by deadlines to avoid contract cancellation
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Blue Card training may be provided onsite if not already held, depending on unit requirements
