Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: San Francisco, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift Options:
- Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
- Day shift, 4 days a week, 10 hours per day (8:00 AM - 6:30 PM)
- Call required
- Ability to float to other facilities within the health system
- Strong orthopedic background required
- Experience circulating and scrubbing in the OR
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in an inpatient setting
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification
Certifications Required (per unit)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, no placeholders
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - if applicable
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - if applicable
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) - if applicable
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) - if applicable
- Chemotherapy certification - if applicable
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) - if applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification - if applicable
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) - for psych positions only
Additional Requirements
- COVID-19 preparedness review and attestation prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements and emergency contact information
- Completion of annual Cyber Security Awareness Training and quiz (passing score 80%+)
- Completion of HIPAA Healthcare Provider Module and quiz (passing score 80%+)
- Facility-specific photo for badge submission by Monday prior to start (color photo, neutral background)
- Review and initial parking and uniform policies prior to start
- Uniforms: Scrubs provided for certain units; others must follow facility scrub color guidelines (UCSF branded scrubs optional)
- Wage Benefit Parity form required pre-start for all clinical candidates

- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

- COVID-19 vaccination is strongly recommended but not required as of current guidelines.
- Flu vaccine or facility-specific declination required during flu season (Nov-Apr).
