Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Tech

Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: 4x10 hour days, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (facility may low census/cancel 36 hours per contract)
  • Call Requirement: Call rotation averaging 10 days per month, including weekends
  • Weekend Requirement: Call rotation includes weekends
  • Locals Accepted: No (candidate must live more than 70 miles from the facility)
  • Pending License: Accepted at manager's discretion
  • Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
  • First-timers: Accepted

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology
  • Experience with outpatient, inpatient, and adult ICU settings required
  • Proficient with PACS, C-Arm, contrast, and biopsies
  • Experience with stents, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram, peripherals, biopsies, drainages, vascular studies, venous access, neuro studies, genitourinary, abdomen and pelvis, and upper/lower extremities
  • Must be able to use and deploy pushable/detachable coils, micro catheters and micro wires, Snare Kits, and injector systems (preferably ACIST)
  • Epic electronic health record experience required

Required Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • State license as applicable for Missouri (or compact license)
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications may be required depending on unit (verify with program management)

Special Requirements

  • Must submit Return to Office (RTO) requests with application; additional requests subject to manager approval
  • Criminal background check within 12 months required
  • Drug screening within 12 months required
  • Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health required
  • Fit mask testing (respirator fit test) will be completed onsite during orientation; must be clean-shaven for fit test
  • Immunizations and health screenings required including:
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 5 years for positives
    • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (renewed annually)
    • COVID vaccine series preferred
    • Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccination proof
    • Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination (for new candidates)
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and training required
  • Must complete and sign confidentiality, security, and ethical conduct agreements prior to start

  • Candidate must provide a clear, passport-style photo for badge
  • References and skills checklist required prior to start
  • Candidate will be fit tested onsite during first week of orientation
  • No floating outside scope of practice
  • No locals accepted; candidate must reside more than 70 miles from the facility

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Interventional Radiology Tech with a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience. The role requires strong technical skills in IR procedures, proficiency with Epic, and the ability to participate in call rotations including weekends. Candidates must meet all licensing, certification, and health requirements and be willing to complete required orientation and training modules. This position offers a 13-week contract with a 4x10 day shift schedule.
