Job Opportunity: MRI Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Chesapeake, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Work Schedule: 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Rotation: On-call and weekend rotations required
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years in specialty (Radiology / Cardiology)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
    • AART (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • Skills: Experience with GE equipment required

Requirements & Compliance

  • Licensing & Background:
    • No license or background hits tolerated (zero tolerance policy)
    • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Must run checks for all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Identification: Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
  • Documentation:
    • I9 verification required
    • E-Verify required for direct placements
  • Fingerprinting:
    • Required starting 1/1/2026 via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check
    • Must be completed within first week of contract or ASAP to avoid delays
  • Physical & Health:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • Fit test for N95 mask within 1 year, updated annually (PAPR not allowed)
    • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or Tspot) within 1 year, annual updates required
    • Required immunizations/titers within 10 years: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
    • TDAP vaccine required for certain units; preferred for others
    • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 12 months of start
    • Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (or approved exemption with mask requirement)
    • COVID vaccine preferred but not required
  • Competency & Testing:
    • Pass/fail EKG/medication test required for all RNs (not applicable for this role)
    • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
    • Color blindness testing with 100% passing score required
  • Additional Certifications:
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
    • Other certifications may be required depending on unit/profession

  • Must complete unit-specific skills checklist annually
  • Proof of 2 professional references required
