Job Details

Requirements

  • Licenses & Certifications:
    • New York RN license
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • EPIC experience required
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) strongly preferred (AHA certification preferred)
    • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) strongly preferred (AHA certification preferred)
    • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required for ER staff
    • NIH Stroke Certification required for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, and 7th Floor Med/Surg Unit
    • NY Harassment Prevention Training Certificate (annual)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg specialty (highest required)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Competencies & Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Color Blind Testing (required prior to start)
  • Competency Exam (80% passing or meet/exceed Angoff score)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, 7th Floor Med/Surg; expires every 3 years)

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit Mask test within 1 year and updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray within 1 year (PPD, Quantiferon Gold accepted; Tspot NOT accepted)
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
    • Varicella (positive titer, vaccine proof, or history of chickenpox)
  • 9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or Declination (required during flu season: 9/1 - 3/31)
  • Pneumonia Vaccination or Declination (required)

Documentation & Onboarding

  • Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Emergency Contact Form (required prior to start)
  • Background Checks (7-year search, updated annually)
  • Education Verification

    • 2 professional references for travel, allied, per diem acute care
    • 1 professional reference for per diem non-acute care
