Schedule
- Night shift
- 3x12-hour shifts
- 36 hours per week
- May be scheduled for days, nights, or a rotating combination if assigned to a 12D/N contract
Contract Length
- 16 weeks
Unit Focus
- Acute leukemia and hematology
- Adults and geriatrics
- Newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Acute Care experience
Preferred Qualifications
- ONS Chemo Cert
- NIHSS
Key Clinical Skills
- MS/Tele
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Rapid response support
- Feeding tube care and management
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- Blood product administration
- Central line blood draw
- Peripheral line care and management
- PICC line management
- Starting IVs
Additional Notes
- No chemo certification required
- First-time travelers are reviewed by the client
- Heavy focus on infection prevention and fall prevention
- Staffing goal is 1:4, with possible 1:5 ratios
- Weekends vary based on unit needs

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
