Job Opportunity: RN Psych (Pediatric Psychiatry)

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit Name: Epstein 2 - Pediatric Psychiatry
• Patient Population: Children ages 4-18 years
• Program Type: Inpatient program for patients ages 3 to 17 requiring 24-hour care
• Environment: Nurturing and non-coercive
• Bed Count: 30 beds
• Typical Census: 20-25 patients
• Clinician to Patient Ratio: 1 RN to 3 patients
• EMR System: EPIC

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, and Every Other Weekend (EOW)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Floating: Required to other behavioral health areas within Epstein Units and AMHU
• Rotating Shifts: Required up to 20% for Day positions; not required for Night positions

Experience & Skills Required

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience at one location/hospital
• Trauma-informed care approach
• Patient-centered care
• Verbal de-escalation skills

Certifications & Licenses

• Current Massachusetts RN License (no conditional licenses accepted)
• BLS certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)
• Must meet all state and facility-specific licensing verification requirements

Health & Compliance Requirements

• N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually
• MGB Medication Exam with 80% passing score within 365 days
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30) with no exemptions
• TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
• Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender registry
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (if fit test required)
• Education verification of highest degree achieved
• Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid)
• Other health and professional compliance documentation as required
