Job Description

Under general supervision, provide nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex cardiovascular conditions.

Essential Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned group of patients.
• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed treatments; note changes in physician orders.
• Assist physicians with patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Obtain and monitor physiological data; observe patient conditions and intervene as necessary.
• Administer medications, initiate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.
• Deliver competent patient care.
• Communicate care plans with patients and families during hospitalization and at discharge.
• Inform patients and families about hospital procedures.
• Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
• Delegate tasks to support staff.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
• Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Experience in Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cardiac Cath Lab)
• Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
