Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) - Travel

Location: Summit, New Jersey
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: AM (7:00 AM - 8:00 PM)
Hours per Day: 12
Hours per Week: 37.5

Job Overview

• Provide competent nursing care to surgical patients across the continuum of care, including pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
• Perform thorough, systematic, and accurate patient assessments for all age groups (Pediatric to Geriatric).
• Demonstrate knowledge of surgical conditions, procedures, anesthesia types, and related equipment.
• Support perioperative team by prioritizing and directing patient care based on patient needs and condition changes.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes, patient progress, and education.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and patient identification using two identifiers.
• Use safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Respond professionally and courteously to patients, families, and coworkers, maintaining confidentiality according to HIPAA.
• Support timely completion and evaluation of Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Ability to scrub and circulate in surgeries including Orthopedics, Urology, and Robotics.
• Experience specifically in Orthopedics and Urology.

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification preferred.
