Job Summary
- Verify patient identification and document pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age.
- Use professional manners to assist patients and family members, ensuring patient understanding and safety.
- Demonstrate knowledge of MRI technology and cross-sectional human anatomy.
- Operate MRI scanners and related equipment proficiently, including automatic contrast injections, PACS, and image transfer systems.
- Maintain active ARRT status by accruing continuing education credits as needed.
- Interpret MRI protocols, select appropriate scanning parameters, and assist in troubleshooting equipment and protocol issues.
- Administer oral and IV contrast safely, following protocols and verifying patient eligibility and lab values.
- Manage image transfer and verification using PACS, EMR, and related systems, ensuring accurate demographic and charge information.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work environment and produce quality diagnostic images.
- Review patient charts and reports for correlation.
- Precept new employees and students.
- Volunteer for challenging tasks, difficult procedures, and new research initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Prior education, training, and experience sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
Education Requirements
- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.
Certifications & Licensure
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
- Registry-eligible candidates must provide a diploma from an accredited program.
- Must obtain advanced MR certification within one year of employment.
- Must become registered with ARRT within one year of employment and maintain registry status with annual continuing education.
- Must maintain current competency in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (HCP BLS).
