Cardiac Cath Lab RN

Overview

• 12-week contract
• 8-hour day shifts
• Some call required
• Float scope includes Bryan Campus and CS Campus

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the last year
• 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Driver's License

Unit Details

• 4 cath labs, primarily running 3 rooms at one time
• Performs EP cases, peripheral cases, neuro cases, and traumatic embolization patient care
• Does not do specials/IR
• Circulating RN, Scrub Tech, and monitor role are part of the case workflow
• GE MacLab/Combo Lab Hemodynamic Monitoring System is used
• 3 days of orientation to the unit

Call

• Approximately 10–11 days per month, including 1 weekend
• 30-minute response time
• New travelers are typically not scheduled for call the first weekend, but should be able to take call by the second weekend

Experience Notes

• Independently doing cases by Thursday or Friday is expected after orientation
