Overview

• Travel assignment in Redding, California
• 13-week contract
• 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week
• PCU/Step-down unit with 14 beds / 7 rooms
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in California
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• 2+ years of specialty experience
• Experience in an ICU stepdown or PCU unit
• Experience with arterial and CVP pressure lines
• Experience titrating pressors
• Experience with precedex
• Experience with trach and stable vented patients
• Ability to titrate drips

Preferred / Helpful Experience

• Experience with high risk medications
• Experience with telemetry training
• Experience with HCAHPS and core measures

Unit Details

• Stepdown unit from the ICU
• Common patient types include stepdown patients from ICU, TBI/trauma patients, major surgery, CEA, and sepsis
• Common titratable or set-rate drips include precedex, dopamine, dobutamine, and levophed
• One aide is present most of the time for all 14 beds
• Orientation is 1 shift on unit

Scheduling and Float

• Self-scheduling is mostly available
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
• Holiday work is part of the perm staff rotation
• No call or standby requirement
• First to float; may float to Tele or MedSurg

Additional Notes

• Holiday RTO will be considered, but may not be guaranteed
• Open to first-time travelers
• Navy blue scrubs
