Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Critical Care/Echo Cardiac/Stress Testing

Location: Fargo, North Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced RN with a specialty in Critical Care and Cardiac care, including Echo Cardiac and Stress Testing. The role involves performing Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Cardioversions, and stress testing (preferred but not required). The position requires administering conscious sedation and recovering patients post-procedure, along with rhythm interpretation and strong patient assessment skills.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Dakota
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiology experience, including experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • Ability to administer conscious sedation and manage patient recovery post-procedure
  • Proficient in rhythm interpretation
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday, day shift (8.5 hours per day, approximately 40 hours per week)
  • If stress testing experience is present, rotation includes one weekend per month and holidays

Unit Details

  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:1
  • Unit has 2 procedure rooms and patient bedside care in hospital rooms
  • No floating to other units or departments
  • Dress code: Navy blue scrubs

Equipment and Systems Used

  • Defibrillator (Life Pak)
  • EPIC and CUPID electronic charting systems
  • Accudose medication dispensing system

Additional Information

  • Approximately 8 TEEs and/or Cardioversions performed daily
  • Average of 40 patients scanned daily, with procedures running into the evening
  • Collaboration with charge nurse and providers required
  • Brief orientation provided

Location Restriction

  • Candidates living within a 60-mile radius of the facility are not eligible to apply
