Certified Surgical Technologist

Location

Sitka, Alaska

Contract

13 weeks

Schedule

Day shift, Tuesday–Friday, 10 hours per day, with on-call/call-back

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technologist training program
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Current BLS certification
1 year of experience as a Certified Surgical Technologist
Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the last year

Key Responsibilities

Scrub in on surgical procedures under professional nurse supervision
Set up sterile tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, and medications/solutions for surgical procedures
Anticipate surgeon preferences for materials and instruments and respond accordingly
Take apart and reassemble instruments or equipment that need cleaning within scope of duties and prepare them for terminal sterilization
Monitor supplies and instruments to maintain sterility
Inventory, monitor, and order assigned service supplies as needed
Provide backup call for emergency cases that may require two surgical technicians
Participate in assigned committees
Perform other assigned duties

Additional Information

Housing and transportation are not provided for travelers
Start date is not less than 6 weeks after fingerprints are received for processing
Applicants must live at least 100 miles away from the facility address
