RN (Registered Nurse) — Med/Tele

Location

• Lufkin, Texas

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week or 36/48 hours every other week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

Unit Details

• 25 beds
• Patient ratio: 5-6:1
• Common patient types include CHF, diabetes, pneumonia, CKD, and med/surg telemetry
• RN must be able to read telemetry strips
• Heparin is the only titratable drip
• CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow patients are on the unit
• PCTs are present
• Charge nurse, house supervisors, and nurse educators are available

Floating

• Floats to all med/surg units
• May float to PCU for telemetry holds prior to transfer

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• 18+ months of recent Med/Tele experience
• Must be a team player with strong communication and time management skills

Preferred

• Rural hospital experience

Additional Notes

• Rural hospital setting with high reliance on travelers
• Department orientation includes 2 shadow/orientation shifts
• Navy blue scrubs required
