Required Qualifications

• RN license in Indiana or a compact RN license
• BLS certification (AHA only)
• 2 years of youth psych experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No call required

Unit Details

• Behavioral health youth services unit
• 18 beds in the 600 Hallway and 16 beds in the 500 Hallway
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:10
• No floating

Relevant Clinical Duties

• Shift report
• Shared assignment of 13 patients with MHT
• Medication administration after obtaining consent
• Charting on assigned patients
• Managing aggressive situations with team members
• Treatment plan sessions
• Admissions and discharges
• Communication with parents of assigned patients
• DCS reports

Relevant Systems / Equipment

• Epic charting
• Pyxis
• Vital sign machines
• EKG machine
• Phones

Orientation / Training

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training provided if not already completed
• Orientation to unit programming, admission and discharge processes, unit expectations, groups and activities, medication process, communication with Department of Children Services, standards of behavior, and attendance expectations

Dress Code

• Caribbean blue scrubs
