Radiology Technologist - North Dakota (Fargo)

Job Overview

  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shifts: Primarily day shifts (8 or 10 hours), with occasional evening shifts; limited call; weekend rotation every 3rd weekend
  • Facility Size: 300+ beds, 50 ER rooms (Level 1 trauma), 28 ORs
  • Dress Code: Gray scrubs

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years recent radiology technologist experience
  • Active ARRT (R) certification
  • Active BLS certification (AHA required)
  • NDMRT Licensure (North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board) required or willingness to apply within 48 hours of offer acceptance
  • Experience with portable X-rays and ER or experience with C-arm
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment
  • Radiation badge supplied by agency/traveler

Job Duties

  • Ensure accurate patient positioning during radiographic procedures
  • Conduct imaging operations according to provider requests and technical factors
  • Implement radiation safety guidelines and proper radiation protection practices
  • Deliver excellent patient care and education before, during, and after imaging procedures
  • Navigate electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Procedures and Settings

  • ER, PICU, NICU, Endoscopy, General X-ray, Portable X-rays, Panorex
  • Inpatient/Outpatient fluoroscopy including swallow studies, cystograms, VCUGs, urethrograms, arthrograms, lumbar punctures, myelograms
  • OR support for neurosurgery, urology, orthopedics, pediatrics

Training and Orientation

  • Required to review all equipment with a preceptor and demonstrate competency before independent use
  • Must demonstrate ability to use C-arm and O-arm prior to performing cases in the OR
  • Orientation continues with preceptor until competency is achieved in all areas

Additional Notes

  • Must badge in and out at the facility
  • Applicants must ensure correct submission of fingerprints and licensing paperwork to the NDMRT Board licensing office to avoid delays
  • If previously employed by this facility, must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission date
