Job Opportunity: Cath Lab/IR Tech

Location: Glendale, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Cath Lab/IR Tech for a travel contract in a hospital setting. The role involves working in a Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (IR) unit with 3 suites/labs, handling 8-10 cases per day on average.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Cath Lab/IR Tech
  • Active California license for Radiologic Technologist
  • Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), ARRT (R), Fluoroscopy certification
  • Scrub experience required
  • Prior travel experience preferred (not mandatory)

Work Details

  • Shifts: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with call coverage after shift ends
  • Call Requirements:
    • Weekend call required two weekends per month (24-hour call from 6:30 AM to 6:30 AM)
    • Evening call required 1-2 times per week with a 30-minute response time
  • Orientation: One shift on unit for floor-specific orientation
  • No floating required
  • Typical cases include:
    • Left and Right heart catheterizations (interventional and diagnostic)
    • Electrophysiology (EP) studies
    • Pacemakers and defibrillators
    • IR procedures such as PICC line placements, central lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, pleurovacs, etc.

  • EMR: Meditech
  • Telemetry: GE MacLab

  • 3 Cath Lab/IR suites available
  • Charge nurse present
  • 24/7 Radiology Tech and Pharmacy support
  • Scrub color provided
  • Holidays: One major and one minor holiday observed

Increased workload. But that has become the normal in Nursing since 2020.
