Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical/Surgical unit.
• Work the night shift (7 PM to 7:30 AM).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kansas.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Credentials & Documentation for Submission

• Professional resume/profile.
• Two professional references completed prior to first assignment.
• Nursys license verification and primary source license verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Driver’s license/state ID (front and back).

Onboarding Requirements (Must be completed prior to or at start)

• Signed assignment agreement (offer letter, initial confirmation, and extensions).
• Ascension Core Competencies: HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics; minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
• Ascension EKG Exam: Passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years.
• NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
• Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite).
• Ascension Onboarding Education Attestation (6 hours pre-hire training).
• Ascension Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training.
• Cerner Test-Out: Test results and training checklist with signed attestation.
• Ascension Badge Photo: Forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations.
• Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually.
• Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender, and other checks within 30 days of first assignment; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.
• Ascension EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Ascension Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days.
• Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with each extension.
• Ascension Employment Verification: Third-party verification for past 7 years; updated annually or after break in service > 90 days.

Required Immunizations and Health Screenings

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted. If negative titer, two doses four weeks apart required.
• Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted. If negative, two doses four weeks apart required.
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
• Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza Vaccine: Optional; exemptions accepted but mask required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
• Tuberculosis Screening: Two-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray within one year and annual TB questionnaire required.
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite; updated annually.
