Job Opportunity: ED Observation RN (Emergency Room)

Salem, Massachusetts

Employment Type

Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

Night shifts, 19:00 - 07:30
Every Other Weekend (EOW)
36 hours per week
Rotating shifts required

Unit Details

Observation Unit with 16 beds
Patient population: Adult
Clinician to patient ratio: 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
Census typically 10-16 patients
Floating to other units required

Job Description

Provide general Emergency Department nursing care including:
- Patient assessment and documentation
- IV therapy and phlebotomy
- EKG and cardiac monitoring (must be able to read telemetry strips)
- Point of care testing
- Splinting
- Critical thinking and patient education

Requirements/Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
BLS issued by American Heart Association
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
PALS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
Minimum 2 years working as a travel nurse
