SICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel/contract role in New Orleans, Louisiana
High-acuity ICU assignment
Patient ratio: 1:2
Float requirement to other ICUs and step-down units
No block scheduling requests
Shift options: 3x12s or 4x12s

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
ACLS issued by American Heart Association
BLS issued by American Heart Association
NIHSS
Transplant experience
Experience with Epic

Experience / Clinical Skills

ICU experience
Experience with continuous renal replacement therapy
Experience caring for post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter patients
Experience with general post-op surgical recovery care
Experience with transplant recovery patients, including liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas

Preferred

Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps

Assignment Expectations

May be assigned to an emergency team during an emergency event and may be expected to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
Must report as assigned by the immediate unit manager during an emergency event
