Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse

Location: Napa, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

8-hour shifts
Day shifts, typically starting at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 1:30 PM
Shift pattern: 5 days per week, 40 hours total

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Current certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Experience in Long Term Care setting
Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Background and Screening Requirements

Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually
Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start; instants acceptable
State-specific searches and registries as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search for WA placements)
NURSYS license verification required for all RNs
Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work with or without accommodation
Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates
Immunizations and health documents:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or signed declination
- COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated candidates must follow infection prevention policies

Social Security Card (as applicable for I9 verification)

Float policy acknowledgment: May be required to float to other nearby facilities

Completion of annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS (Workramp)
Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
