Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum

Location: Fayetteville, North Carolina

Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Charting system: Epic

Job Details

• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Required to float within scope to meet facility needs, including between like units
• Block scheduling: Open to accommodating
• Locals accepted: No (50-mile radius restriction from main campus)
• Return staff policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; after that, all contracted hours are guaranteed

Required Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA or Military only
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required for Labor & Delivery, FCCU, NICU units
• Additional certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS) but are not mandatory for this specialty

Required Licenses and Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Maternal - Newborn nursing experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: Required and must be renewed annually (via Relias)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for awareness; candidates have 3 attempts to pass with remediation steps outlined
• NIH Stroke Certification: Must be updated annually if applicable

Scheduling and Work Environment

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
• Floating between units as needed within scope
• No on-call requirement
• Strict 50-mile radius rule for locals (not accepting local candidates)

Important Notes

• First-time travelers are not preferred; manager discretion applies based on years of experience
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Return staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
• Contract extensions allowed once; after two contracts, a 6-month break is required before returning
• Flu vaccine declinations are not accepted; medical or religious exemptions require facility approval and documentation
• Drug screens and background checks cannot be pending at start; instant drug screens are not accepted
