Job Opportunity: GI Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a GI Lab unit with 11 pre/post procedure bays and 3 procedure rooms, exclusively serving GI patients.
Patient population: Adult to Geriatric.
Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM).
On-call required 1 time per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM).
3 weekend on-call shifts per contract (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM).
Scrub color: Grey.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
Minimum 1 year of GI Lab experience within the last year.
Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment.
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Current ACLS certification.
Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Health and Safety Requirements

Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually).
Negative TB test (PPD, Q-Gold, or T-SPOT) within 1 year, updated annually; if positive, chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
Immunizations or proof of immunity/declination for:
- Measles (Rubeola) – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Mumps – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer.
- Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer.
- Hepatitis B – vaccination series, titer, or declination.
Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season or approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt).
Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually), covering a comprehensive panel of substances.
Fit mask testing completed onsite at orientation.

Documentation and Compliance

Must complete and sign confidentiality agreement, code of conduct, demographic form, and orientation quiz (minimum 84% score).
References: 2 professional references within 3 years.
Employment application and skills checklist required.
Verification of most recent employment required.

Additional Notes

Return travelers within one year may be required to complete AVADE training if extending contract.
Onsite AVADE training required for RN candidates if contract is extended beyond initial term.
RTO (Request Time Off) limit: 2 requests per contract.

This position is ideal for experienced GI Lab RNs who meet the certification and licensure requirements and are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage.
