Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 1.5 years of Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) experience, with MICU experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Compliance & Screening Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Fingerprinting:

  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
• Drug Testing:

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card acceptance)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (annual updates required)
  • Immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
  • Seasonal Influenza vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
• References:

  • Two professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Performance Evaluation:

  • Required if worked with the client for over 1 year

Orientation & Onboarding

• Start date aligned with next applicable orientation date (3-4 weeks out)
• Must complete online training modules via designated platform prior to start (high priority, no exceptions)
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome; video content cannot be skipped
• Facility is smoke-free; all travelers must be nicotine-free (negative nicotine test required)
• Pass/Fail testing on EKG and Pharmacology administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
