Pediatrics Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Midland, Texas
Position Details
- Job Title: Pediatrics Registered Nurse
- Location: Midland, Texas
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Start Date: Within the next 3-4 weeks
- First-time travelers may be considered if they have a strong work history
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
- Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience, with experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Required within 1 year of start; must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
- Fit Mask: N95 fit test required within 1 year of start (PAPR not accepted)
- Immunizations and Testing: Must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSpot) within 12 months; positive results require chest x-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire
- Rubeola (Measles): Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Mumps: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or series of 3 vaccines required
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history of chickenpox required
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Vaccine required within 10 years
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
- Flu Vaccination: Required October 1 - March 31 or agency declination (masking may be required if declined)

- Confidentiality and Security Agreement
- Drug Screening and Blood Testing Consent Form (onsite drug screen during orientation)
- TB Questionnaire (required regardless of TB status)
- Compliance Checklist
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual update required)
- Various facility-specific forms to be completed prior to start (health record, code of conduct, confidentiality, information system security, non-employee orientation, traveler orientation)
