Registered Nurse – GI Lab (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roseville, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
  • Schedule includes varied days, holidays, weekends, and overnight call:
    • Weekend duty: 1 weekend per month
    • Call: Overnight from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM with a 30-minute response time
  • Setting: Acute care, Endoscopy (ENDO)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of GI Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
  • Annual updates required for EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and FACIS screenings
  • Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work and any work restrictions documented
  • TB screening: Negative QGold or TSPOT within 90 days of start or 2-step PPD testing with annual renewal
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR) titers or vaccinations
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
    • Varicella titer or vaccinations
    • Seasonal flu vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types accepted)
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually
  • Color blindness exam (in-person) if applicable
  • Drug testing and immunization documentation must comply with California regulations and facility policies

Competency and Testing

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Unit-specific skills checklist, renewed annually
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
  • ICU and Med-Surg/Telemetry RNs at certain locations may be required to take an onsite EKG exam after start

Documentation and Orientation

  • Must review and sign facility-specific documents prior to start, including:
    • Job description
    • Standards of Business Conduct
    • Code of Conduct
    • Overpayment Refund Policy
    • Vendor Training
    • Regulatory Orientation for Contracted Workers
  • Complete facility-specific questionnaires such as Epic Questionnaire (for RNs starting 11/3/2025 and onward)
  • Religious exemption forms required for facial hair (PAPR) and certain vaccine exemptions, subject to approval

Employment History and References

  • Full 7 years of work history required on application, including city and state, with no gaps
  • Verification of up to 7 years of employment history required; gaps over 30 days must be explained
  • Two professional references required for clinical and acute care positions (within 3 years)

Additional Notes

  • Weekend and call duties are mandatory and cannot be adjusted
  • Response time for call is 30 minutes
  • All certifications and verifications must be completed and verified within 30 days of start unless otherwise noted
